Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Is Signature Health Alliance a PPO Network?
A.
Yes. Signature Health Alliance is a PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) Network that contracts with hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers to participate in a network offering quality health care at competitive rates. Participating providers agree to pre-negotiated fee schedules. PPOs offer their services to health insurance companies, third party administrators (TPAs), and self-insured employers.

Q. How do I identify a Signature Health Alliance Member?
A.
Look for the Signature Health Alliance logo on the patient's insurance card.

Q. Is Signature Health Alliance the member's insurance company?
A.
No. Signature Health Alliance manages the PPO Network but does not pay claims or determine medical coverage. The name of the insurance company is on the member's ID card along with the phone number. If you are unable to find it please call our customer service department at 800-264-3060 for assistance.

Q. Are prescriptions and dental insurance covered through Signature Health Alliance?
A.
No. If a member has dental or prescription coverage as a part of their health insurance plan, you must consult their primary benefit administrator for details about these services.

Q. Where do I mail claims?
A.
Mail the claims to the address listed on the patient's ID card.

Q. What does Repricing mean?
A.
Repricing is applying the discount for using an "In-Network Provider" to charges submitted by your doctor's office. The discount and net charges, along with the original claim, are forwarded to the insurance company for payment.

Q. Who do I call to check if a claim has been paid?
A.
Call the member's claims administrator or insurance company as listed on their ID card.

Q. What type of codes should I file for anesthesia claims, ASA Codes or CPT Codes?
A.
Signature Health Alliance's new information system calculates anesthesia rates based on CPT codes, so please use that coding for these claims.

Call Provider Relations at (615) 401-4674 or (800) 264-3060 for assistance.
